Welcome to The Clan Donnachaidh Society of Florida
Our Clan
Clan Donnachaidh's three main family names are: Duncan, Reid and Robertson. Clan Donnachaidh (Gaelic name), also known as Clan Robertson (English name) is the only clan that still uses their original Gaelic name as their official name.
For many years our state branch has operated the society as a "Family Reunion" at the many games and festivals held throughout the state. At these games, we try to provide a welcome spot for our clan family members, and those considering membership; a place to meet, rest, share some food and drink, and to enjoy the relationship of finding clan family members.
Our Chief
Alexander Gilbert Haldane Robertson of Struan was born in 1938. He was the youngest of four children, and only son, of Langton George Duncan Haldane Robertson of Struan and his wife, Laurie. He succeeded his father as chief of Clan Donnachaidh in 1983.
Struan married in 1965 Bridget Kenyon, younger daughter of Ronald and Celia Kenyon. He has one son and two daughters and three grandchildren. His son, Alasdair Gilbert Robertson of Drumachuine, younger of Struan, is his heir.
